Spice'N'Ice Indian Restaurant, Port Adelaide, SA
Dish Name :
Tokri Mushroom
Review :
Tucked away in Port Adelaide, Spice'N'Ice is the archetypal hidden gem, with the jewel in its crown the Tokri Mushroom entree. We haven't come across mushrooms in many Indian dishes, so for us it was an interesting experiment, but with electrifying results. Flat mushrooms cooked in red wine, with chickpeas, capsicums, cottage cheese in a creamy sauce with coriander oil came together in a cracking combination! We followed up with a light'n'creamy butter chicken, sumptuous lamb rogan josh, and typically fruity Kashmiri naan. We were visiting for our anniversary, and it was Spice'N'Ice's fourth birthday too, so it was celebrations all round. We'll be back soon, though, not least because staff told us of a mushroom special dish which we'd love to try soon - a Portobello mushroom filled with cheese and Indian spices, which sounds delicious! Mushrooms in Indian cooking are a revelation for us - and we're happy to have made the discovery - while everything else about our dinner at Spice'N'Ice was beautiful, too: I'm very happy to recommend dinner here!

Middle Brighton Baths, Brighton, VIC
Dish Name :
Rabbit saddle stuffed with confit leg, smoked pumpkin purree, wild mushrooms.
Review :
Overlooking the Middle Brighton Sea Baths and views of the city skyline it was the perfect setting for a great night. My dish of choice was also great. The sweet taste of rabbit and the strong meaty texture of wild mushrooms complemented each other with the perfect mix of flavours. The presentation of the meal was beautiful and cooked to perfection. The restaurant had a great feel and ambiance to it and this was followed through with attentive and professional staff. A place I would recommend to others.

Dish Name :
3 swiss brown mushrooms
Review :
We come into the gilbert quite often my husband always has the Spanish mushrooms as a entree they are very good every time we have them. we tried the special, Swiss brown 3 different ways and different it was a very strong flavored mushroom soup in a shot glass with salty truffle was a little powerful for my liking but when i tried the pate it went very well as did the sweet mushrooms on top of a little crunchy toast the after taste was excellent the flavors were well put together in the way the chef did it.

Homage to the swiss brown 3 ways
Review :
The gilbert is our local hotel and we know that the executive chef is always putting mushroom dishes on his menu. We were delighted to see that the whole month was devoted to mushrooms on the special's board, we tried this unusual dish which was explained as sweet salty and rich, the soup was rich with truffle salt was very powerful but went very well with the little bread that had sweet mushrooms on top and then was served with this mushroom pate that was to die for. we always happen to pick dishes that have mushrooms on the normal menu but this was something very special we went back in later over the weekend to try it again with some friends but was disappointed that it was only on for that day. luckily there was another fantastic dish waiting to be tried the sea scollops with truffled mushroom and chive brioche all i can say is YUM!!!
